The Ab Routine of Doom

Over Thanksgiving break I a DVR spring cleaning, as in I record so many shows it fills up weekly. But it's not just as simple as deleting some recorded shows. Nay nay, it means creating your own TV marathon so you can be sure and watch them all before you delete them. So, over thanksgiving I had my own biggest loser marathon. I have been recording season 5 of biggest loser on the FLN channel but hadn't been watching them on a regular basis. So last week was the week.

I have been carrying around an article out of November's real simple about a 15 minute Ab routine but have never gotten brave enough to do it. But with my biggest loser confidence and I can attitude I decided to try it. Monday I convinced myself I could run (and by run I mean alternating walk for 5 minutes run for 1.5) on the treadmill for an hour. I don't know how those 500lb people on the show do it for hours and hours...I lasted 20 minutes and decided to move on to weights. I've never been a runner, and don't see becoming one anytime in the near future...it's too much of a mental thing. At the end of my workout I gave the ab routine a go. It was hard to say the least.

I could barely balance on this one and kept tipping over:

On Tuesday after the spin class from hell I decided to hit up the ab routine again. I was already neon pink in the face from spin class and dripping with sweat...I looked quite literally like a hot mess. As I am lying prostrate on the floor in a pool of sweat about to perform this manuever

but feeling more like I look like this

a trainer walks by with his client and says something to the effect of, soon we'll have you doing that. I held the plank of doom for an extra 5 seconds...just to be a good example...for a whopping total of 15 seconds.

Yesterday after spin I ditched the ab routine..ya know...I didn't want to over do it or something?
