1,2,3 Chili

Last week I stopped by the grocery store, low on budget I needed to restock the vegetable section of my kitchen. I prefer fresh vegetables, but as a party of one, unless I have something specific in mind for them they tend to go bad before I can cook them. So B Team vegetables are usually Birds Eye Steam Fresh. They are truly amazing and so fresh tasting, not to mention super easy. I HIGHLY recommend them for those of you who are more affluent in these economic times. Never the less, due to budget cuts (i.e. where did all of my money go this month?!) I had a little can food drive for myself. I potentially purchased somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 cans for myself. Not the most nutritious but at around 80cents a pop and they won't go bad until the year 2012, you really can't beat that on a budget.

So I put my canned products to use Sunday night for a little easy as 1,2,3 Chili. Now, chili has its appropriate time and place in life. The afternoon before a formal affair would not be the time, on a first date would not be the time, the dining hall cafeteria is probably not the place, and Wendy's is debatable in my book. However, when the time and place are right, coupled with the appropriate weather conditions, I love a good bowl of chili.

It's that easy! If you want to spice it up you can toss in whatever seasoning you want. I think I added a little minced garlic, and some random version of Mrs. Dash, some salt and pepper.

Happy Chili-ing
